Sign up to boot camp with Gillian McKeith

Most of us take a new year as a chance to look at health initiatives, drop some weight and aim for a healthier way of living, and generally we need some help and motivation to do this.

Scot Gillian McKeith is certainly known for her motivation ideas on how to live a healthier life and her latest health initiative incorporates several streams to kick start a healthier new you.

“I call it my trinity approach” Gillian tells me, going on to explain how it incorporates the 14 day Boot Camp diet book, on-line support to continue this and finally a download from iTunes where a range of music has been re-recorded to a walking beat with Gillian’s voice over the top motivating you to keep on going. The on-line support includes messages from Gillian, chat forums, top tips and meal plans.

Gillian is extremely passionate about what she does and about trying to help people. “I don’t agree with diet in the conventional sense,” she explains. “The boot camp diet is just a different way of eating. It is a lifestyle change where you change the way you live, not deprive yourself. There are 70 yummy recipes, 20 of them brand new and they are simple to put together – even my 14 year old daughter can make them so there’s no excuse for anyone else.”

Food is however only part of the issue, she continues. “There is the psycho-emotional element of food, such as comfort-eating and why we do it and even deeper is the spiritual, soulful level. You need to get to the real you to expect change to be long lasting.”

With 20 years in private practice, Gillian has seen her many patients fighting health issues and knows how easy it is to talk yourself into failure when it comes to our battles with food and exercise. “At the end of the day you have to love yourself,” she states.

The combination of all these elements has never been done in a diet book before so Gillian really hopes that her boot camp diet will be the breakthrough many people have been looking for.

And it’s not just about food. “The techniques suggested in the book will work for any aspect of your life,” explains Gillian, “whether it is relationship or financial problems or a matter of self-esteem.”

I asked Gillian what it was that has made her so passionate about eating and living healthily. She explained how she had once lived on a dreadful diet, was overweight and not at all well. Believing she may have a brain tumour after many visits to several doctors, she met a healer who diagnosed a number of problems but not a brain tumour. “The healer was right and that changed my life. I decided to sort out the way I lived and I began with nutrition.”

That has of course stayed with Gillian and as she retrained as a nutritionist she has never strayed from that way of life. “My kids have never eaten junk food and consequently they don’t want it. I am on a mission to empower people and this new health initiative of mine will take them by the hand and help them. Some people just don’t know how great they can feel”.

Gillian’s Boot Camp diet book is out now, available from all good bookshops. The website is www.gilliansbootcamp.com and the motivational downloads are available at www.tescodigital.com or iTunes.
