You and your skin

November is healthy skin month and as your largest organ, your skin is one of the most vital of organs so it is best to look after it.

It provides a shield between you and the outside world, keeps your internal workings intact, naturally helps your body to detox itself through sweat, and regulates your body temperature. Yet many of us fail to ensure that our skin has all it needs to stay healthy.

Male and female skin is quite different. More testosterone means male skin is thicker and explains why you men need products that not only look and smell different, but work differently too.

For women, the right care can keep your skin looking and feeling healthy throughout your life. While dry and sensitive skins need extra protection, even ‘normal’ skin needs care to get it working at its natural best.

Healthy Skin Month is focusing on your skin’s three basic healthy skin rights:

PROTECTION

  • The average adult has 2 square metres of skin weighing over 3kg
  • Strengthening your skin’s own protection barrier builds healthier skin that is more resilient and less likely to beb sensitive
  • The added benefit of Zinc in products works with your skin to strengthen its own defences

NATURAL pH BALANCE

  • Your skin’s natural pH level is generally between 5.5 and 6.0
  • Your skin has to actively work harder to rebalance its pH
  • Skin products with a low pH make it easier for your skin to remain at its natural best

MOISTURISATION

  • Your skin is alive and constantly growing and has approximately 300 million skin cells
  • Your skin needs a certain level of moisture to stay soft, hydrated and young looking
  • Moisturising agents give your skin advanced nourishment

Sanex supports Healthy Skin month and is relaunching its entire washing and bathing range with a new easy-grip bottle and flip top lid – for easier use in the shower – and adding Dermo Active 3 formulations which actively work with your skin to help it stay protected, moisturised and balanced – so now it’s easy to get your three a day for healthy skin!

The Dermo Active 3 washing and bathing range will be widely available from November from all good supermarkets, chemists and drug stores nationwide and all are soap-free, pH balanced and dermatologically tested.
