Healthy teeth, healthy environment
If you are concerned about what you put in your mouth, the brand of toothpaste you use may be something you might want to consider. OralClens Natural, made by the oral care specialists Oraldent, has announced that its mouthwash and toothpaste is to receive endorsement from the Vegetarian Society. This is a first for any mainstream brand of toothpaste or mouthwash.
Figures from the Vegetarian Society suggest that approximately three million vegetarians live in the UK, representing over five per cent of the adult population, yet despite this, there are significantly few mainstream offerings which cater to this demand.
With the use of a clinically proven, naturally derived anti-bacterial in the form of Citroxx, OralClens Natural responds to increasing consumer demand for chemical free products. The toothpaste also has no sodium lauryl sulphate so is less likely to aggravate ailments such as mouth ulcers. The mouthwash is also alcohol free so is kinder and gentler on the mouth and gums, and contains no sodium benzoate, a synthetic preservative used commonly not only in the soft drinks industry, but also in other mouthwashes. Recent studies suggest a link to DNA damage.
Says Richard Thomas, managing director of Oraldent, the oral care specialists: “Approval from the Vegetarian Society is a very important milestone for OralClens Natural. Very few mainstream products receive such an accolade, so this further endorses that OralClens Natural range is a safe, natural option for those concerned about the contents of cosmetic products, and the effects on their health”. www.oraldent.co.uk
